Mrs. Mayme Carey
Mrs. Mayme Carey began teaching in Cowiche in 1923 or 1924 and was teaching high school courses in Speech, Latin and Spanish plus acting as the school’s librarian when we came to know her in the 1950s. She was elected teacher of the year in 1957 by the Naches Heights Scyoga Club.
